Billing Project Manager provides support to the Billing systems, for staff, clients, customers and vendors. Performs strategic business research, analysis and design to support change and create efficiencies throughout the Billing organization. Develops business plans, directions and initiatives to create efficiencies with vendors, clients and patients. Projects included but limited to Payers, Health Plans, IT and Informatics upgrades, Compliance, Six Sigma, Patient and Client Web efficiencies, eligibility, remittance, cash flow, and other system items. Provides consultation to various levels of the organization on improvement to systems and processes to support Billing goals. __________________________________________________________________________________ JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: __________________________________________________________________________________ 1. Collaborate with managers on a day to day basis 2. Collaborate with IT resources 3. Ability to lead a team of functional experts to achieve and exceed project goals on time and within budget 4. Research and resolve issues relating to the various systems and processes in Revenue Services 5. Foster increased and more efficient use of business systems across Rev.Serv 6. Identify opportunities for increased use of our Billing business systems to deliver productivity gains and savings 7. Provider input on improvement opportunities involving business systems 8. Up to 10% travel 9. Work with technical teams (internal/external) to design and/or enhance applications to meet defined needs 10. Work independently or lead small technical teams 11. Write detailed description of user needs, program functions and steps required to develop or modify applications 12. Provider system documentation and training 13. Test new system enhancements and integration 14. Develop test plans 15. Work closely with business and IT development teams to resolve technical issues 16. Work independently with clients, vendors, and other external clients to manage and implement program and propose and develop technically feasible solutions for improved operations 17. Ability to perform workflow data analysis, generate functional specifications, data mapping and participated in system design, development and testing 18. May supervise a team of professionals and support level employees, directly or indirectly. 19. May be called on to write and implement automated scripts 20. May manage and develop databases to automate systems and improve productivity and performance 21. May create SQL queries to extract and update data in databases 22. May be called upon to assist audit teams (compliance, SOX, etc) ________________________________________________________________________________ JOB REQUIREMENTS: __________________________________________________________________________________ Incumbent should possess the knowledge, skills and experience usually obtained by: • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS.) or equivalent experience required; MBA preferred • PMP certification a plus • 5-7 years related experience in billing or clinical laboratory/healthcare industry • 3-5 years matrix management experience • Ability to deliver innovative solutions to achieve business outcomes within tight deadlines • Expert ability to use Microsoft Word, EXCEL, Power Point, Project and other project software tools. • Experience in managing DBMS (primarily Oracle as well as SQL). • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written • Able to write, speak, and listen well and appropriately with different audiences. Able to write reports, business correspondence, and other documentation materials. Able to effectively manage meetings, present information, and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers. • Must have the proven ability to present and articulate issues when working with staff and leadership • Knowledgeable and skilled in the discipline of project management, to include the ability to plan, estimate, and schedule project activities; manage project scope, risk, cost, and quality; control and track project performance; and manage all project communications and documentation. • Proven ability to lead a team of functional experts to achieve project goals on time and within budget. • Proven ability to manage vendor relationships to achieve optimum effectiveness and efficiencies of services provided to the organization.
