Senior Credit Officer II

Details: Employment Type : Regular FLSA Status : Exempt Posted Date : 4/8/2015 Grade : 88 Affiliate : FIFTH THIRD BANK, CINCINNATI GENERAL FUNCTION: Direct Management Responsibility for one of the Bancorp Segmented Lines of Business (Middle Market Lending, Commercial Real Estate, Large Corporate Banking, etc.). Approves credits, providing feedback on proper structuring and pricing. Attends credit administration and prospect meetings to ensure credit standards are followed across assigned business segment. Participants in customer calls as needed. Monitors credit quality through reviewing system-generated reports. Providesguidance on ways to improve efficiency and profitability in all aspects of the commercial divisions of the Affiliate Banks, including staffing. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: * Oversees the loan origination and Credit Administration process for multiple affiliate locations or line of business functions. * Advises areas of responsibility on issues relating to policy, underwriting, risk appetite, etc. * Attends various meetings including prospect, customer strategy discussions and administrative loan meetings. * Approves credit requests within individual lending authority and recommends larger credit requests to higher authority levels. * Makes customer calls with calling personnel when appropriate. * Oversees the maintenance of credit quality. * Reviews various reports (borrowing base certificate, past due, overdraft, ALSR's, etc.) on a weekly or monthly basis to monitor Affiliate Bank credit quality and performance. * Reviews credit packages for those loans approved within the Affiliate Bank's lending limits. Provide feedback to the Affiliate Bank, when necessary, to ensure consistent application of Bancorp lending standards. * Reviews periodic Bancorp credit quality reports to assess assigned affiliates adherence to Bancorp commercial goals and objectives. Provide guidance where necessary to ensure compliance with standards. * Attends various meetings including administrative loan meetings, portfolio review meetings, etc. * Recommends, when appropriate, credits to be turned over to workout for collection. * Performs various other oversight activities. * Acts as a liaison for the affiliates in dealing with Bancorp or other Cincinnati departmental issues. * Determines reporting needs in Affiliate Banks and recommend solutions to improve efficiency and accuracy of completing various tasks/reports. * Performs other duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Manages multiple direct reports within the assigned credit region. Direct responsibility for credit activities supportive multiple affiliate banks and/or lines of business, concerning credit quality, loan administration andcredit approval process. Directly manages staff of Credit Officers and indirectly manages Portfolio Managers, Credit Analysts, Credit Specialists and other Credit Staff.
