Regional Accounting Manager - Rancho Dominguez, CA The Regional Accounting Manager is responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. Supervises staff accountants and is responsible for managing the team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation and the support of budget and forecast activities. Assist management with analysis of operation as needed. Help management with questions regarding financial results, as well as system processing. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Accounting Review monthly reconciliations of all Balance Sheet accounts and perform reconciliations as needed. Research month end expense variances to budget and prior year. Review month end G/L closing journal entries for payroll, accruals, amortization, etc. Ensure G/L closings are complete and timely. Educate employees from other functional areas on accounting practices such as proper cutoffs. Maintain ethical work environment, practice GAAP and ensure internal controls are observed. Tax / Audit Work closely with external audit firm to prepare schedules for year end audit. Coordinate audits from tax authorities, vendors, customers, and third parties as needed. Reporting Use MAS 200 and BI reporting tools to analyze and report operating results. Education & Experience Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance CPs supervisory experience in the financial reporting / general ledger area. Experience with MAS 200 software core applications. PC proficient and thrive in a fast-paced setting. Experience with Microsoft Excel, Access and Word. Strong verbal and written communication skills. 10-key by touch. Strong interpersonal, supervisory and customer skills required. Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
